A long time coming...

A little bit about myself and my Bam Fam.

ME
I'm a 39 year old mother of 3, I work full time as a Dental Nurse/ Clinical Coordinator. I've recently just finished my Cert IV in Dental Radiograph. I love every aspect of my job and wouldn't change it for the world. I also have on online business! (If your wondering where I find the time, I don't sleep) hehehehe

MY SEXY HUSBAND
Adam works more than full time at a local mine, and doesn't love every aspect of his job!

MY KIDLETS
No.1 - Marnie is 11, in year 5 and loves to learn anything she can.
No.2 - Matilda is 8, in year 3 and loves the social side of school.
No.3 - Emmett is 5 and has just started Kindergarten this year, he as taken a little but of time to adjust himself.. but really loves to spend time at home building and creating things with dad..

So this story starts about 12 months ago, we were sitting down having dinner and Adam starts to talk about a trip around Australia! My eyes go wide and in the back of my head I'm saying to myself, this is NOT something that I wish to do. He keeps bringing it up on and off for months. Until one night he got cranky and told me if I didn't want to go then he would go without me... (I know right, how rude!)

So I starting thinking about the logistic of a trip and how long would we go (what about work, I cant take time off work) Being adults we sat down one night when the kids were in bed and starting to throw some ideas around. Adam wanted to go for 3 months (I only wanted to go for 1 month) but we came to a compromise and agreed that we would commit to 8 - 9 weeks. The only thing I had to do was have my holidays approved by the boss man.. Adam had long service so he was good to go.

We are now almost ready to pack the caravan (which we have hired) and jet set around SA, NT, QLD and then back home to NSW..

There has been a lot of planning to get to this point from Saving $$ to where are we going to stop etc... We started really focusing on what we were spending our money on. Setting a budget (which I'm not good at, but getting better) I started to put 100% of my online business wage away in account that was a different bank to our normal one (only way I could not touch it) This was massive for us with saving large chucks of $$.

Then a really good friend of mine (you know who you are) suggested that we Airbnb our house out to help.. We tossed the idea around and decided to give it a crack! So we packed up all our personal belongings and took out our Camping trailer. We have just said goodbye to the last guests before we depart. Happy to give feedback if anyone is thinking about this.

We have decided to start with SA then NT up to Darwin. Across to Cairns then down the east coast. We plan on doing a lot of free camping. Stay tuned for this cause I'm going to Blog heaps of details as we travel.

This is all we have planned, which is killing me. I may or may not like to be in control! But I really feel like this is what we are meant to be doing right at this point in time. No 1 isn't very happy about going cause she will miss out on school and mostly going to miss Grandam, my mum. She is a massive help to us every day (love you mum) No 2 and 3 are happy to go.

So tomorrow is my last day at work and I have mixed emotions about leaving my work crew for this long. But I know that they will be fine without me. Adam started his long service today. The kids are going to school next week while we finish a few things off (Rego for the ute, new tyres etc) We pick the van up on Wednesday.

I would love to share our trip with anyone that's happy to follow.
