Harrington is 15km Northwest of Taree. I used to come on family holidays when I was about 10 with my grandparents. I still remember the shop up the road, the rock wall and the massive hill my brother, Ben and I used to climb every day. A lot has changed since I've grown up, I reckon it would have to be about 25 years since I've been here and I'm super excited to show the kids and Adam around.

As we roll into town its still very overcast and I'm almost 100% sure it's going to rain for the rest of the day, which is fine. We arrive at the caravan park and check in. The park is almost full and very well maintained. The toilet blocks are new (which is nice). We get the caravan set up and the kids head once again on their bikes to see what the park has to offer. No playground, but the concrete roads are great with the bikes. It's starting to get cold as we come down the coast and cause its raining, I'm really starting to miss home. We pack some snacks and head out for a coastal drive, things really haven't changed. A few new buildings and homes about but there isn't much to do. I really nice place to come if you just wanted to relax and read a book or just fish.

I wake up today thinking that I would love to be at home, in my own bed. I could squeeze my mum and the kids could get back to their rooms and all their toys etc. It's about 8am and the rest of the crew are starting to stir. We made a delish breakfast (its still raining) and I mention to Adam that we should head home today! He looks at me like "what" you could have said something earlier.. By now it's about 10am and we call a family meeting, the kids start to scream with excitement, so we get moving.

We have a massive drive today (I didn't charge the Ipads last night) but the kids are super keen to get home. It's also Emmett's birthday tomorrow and would really love to be home to see the family. I sound like I'm trying to justify why we are heading home early. So we leave Harrington at 10.30am and we hit Forbes at 8pm that night.

Guss who's sitting on the front veranda in the dark waiting for us... Mum 💗

And the first thing I say when we open the door is, Thank god we're home!
