The First Week of Travels

Day one - Narrandera, NSW
Population is 3746.
Free camping..
Fuel - $122.94
243km

Let's just say that it was really cold, raining and not a nice afternoon, the heater was nice inside and it gave me a chance to cook some scones. Camping on the Murrumbidgee River would have been beautiful if it was summer and we had the boat for fishing etc.. Dinner was cheese on toast with a side of chocolate for dessert 😊 The kids took a really long time to settle down and get to sleep, but it is the first night.

Day two - Mildura, VIC
Population over 60,000
All Seasons Caravan Park.. $58 for one night (powered site) Total = $116
Fuel - $99.30
473km

Its early and Emmett wakes up (not as early as he normally is at home) jumps on the bed to wake us up. We already had Marnie squished in cause she had a bad dream at 4am. Now, this bed isn't as big as our bed at home (we live in luxury, King size) We wanted to do something fun with the kids today.
So we found Roller skating and Go karts.. We all had a blast and the staff were fantastic.

Day three - We hit the road after packing up, which only took about 20 minutes in total. I think that's really good considering our camping trailer can take up to 1.5 hours (and about 5 fights) The caravan thing is so much easier. Mildura is such a beautiful regional city.

Day four - Burra, Vic
Population is 1103
Burra Caravan Park.. $45 per night
Fuel - $104.67
336km

Now, this little town is the nicest town I've seen in a very long time, Loads of old stone cottages, great little cafe's and everyone we ran into were so friendly. I could have talked to the receptionist at the caravan park hours. They had a self-guided key tour that you could do at your own leisure. Our kidlets played under this little bridge with a hidden garden (which was right next door to the caravan park.

Day five - Port Augusta, SA
Population, 13,604
Shoreline Caravan Park.. $54 per night (powered site) Total = $99 with a discount of $11
Fuel - Not sure yet
239km

We have just joined the BIG 4 member club $50 for two years, This is going to give us discounts along the way, With the next two nights at Cooper Pedy we just saved $11. This will add up over the next 8 weeks.

There was a gentleman at Burra that was telling us that Port Augusta wasn't much chop... But it was on our list too see. On the way, it was the most gorgeous breathtaking views (the kind that makes you want to move there) We arrive in Port Augusta and being on the water you would think that fresh Fish and chips would be on every corner. But we pulled our fish out of the freezer instead! We're going to put a big day in tomorrow and have booked two nights at Coober Pedy.

To sum up the cost so far

Accommodation = $260.00
Fuel = $316.91
Food = $225.00
Travelled = 1291km
