V 8 S U P E R B O A T S - This was the only place we had locked in and a date to be somewhere.. Great friends of ours race V8 Superboats and we really wanted to catch up and support them. Cabarita has a caravan park that was closed for renovations, so we are booked in at Kirra Beach Tourist Park, Kirra. This park was really spread out and the Laundry and Toilet blocks are really nice and clean. We have three nights booked, which turned out to be 4, cause we loved this area. Once again the washing is filling up the end of my bed and you know who much I love washing!
The kids are playing at the Mummies Tummy, so this gives me time to get the caravan back into living order. It's amazing how something so little (with 5 humans) can get so untidy and messy... But on the flip side, it doesn't take long to whip back into shape. After we're finished we head into town for a look see. I love driving along the esplanades, checking out all the houses that once would have been little tiny homes and are now these monstrous three-story houses overlooking the ocean.
Day Forty-six
As we wake up and get out backpacks filled with nibbles and activities for the kids, lunch stuff is ready to put in the fridge on the back on the ute, Hats, blankets to lye on, camping chairs and sunnies. We make our way to the V8 SuperBoats, There is nothing more enjoyable than sitting in the sun, relaxing with something great to watch.
Justin is the BOMB when it comes to being a team player and Bree is the most supportive spouse that will ever live. Now, these guys throw their heart and souls into anything that they apply themselves to. The friendships and great connections that they have made along the way is amazing...
Last night Adam was asked by Mitch (Justin's brother) if he would like a hot lap, HELL YES! So today Adam got to experience this. Now, just imagine 1600-horsepower in a purpose-built aluminium boat that can accelerate to 120km in under 2 seconds..... then turn with the kinds of G-forces usually only experienced by fighter pilots!
Day Forty-seven - R A C E D A Y
Entry fee - Family Pass $60 + $10 extra child.
We have to be at the track early today to get a good seat, The sun is shining, the kids are all sorted. Adam is in the pits helping out. Now I'm quite happy sitting on the hill and just chilling in the sun. If you've ever been to a race, it's exciting. Here is Justin's and Bree's page, to check out.

Day Forty-eight
Today we spend that day checking out the sights. Currumbin was our first stop. A pretty little coastal town up about 15-minutes from Tweed. It has the most beautiful (long) beach with heaps of cool little shop to explore. Heaps of places to sit and soak up the sun. Adam really wanted t spend o=some time fishing off the rocks, we drop him at a well known fishing spot. The kids and I go for a drive to find an IGA (we need water, bread and something for lunch) along the way we found some great parks for the kids to burn some energy, This filled up the morning, and now lunch is calling.
Chip sambo's for lunch ($12 per family box, and tasty!) while Adam tried to catch us some dinner at a different location (fresh fish) but with no luck, we are in search for an ice cream shop (not sure about you but I have a dessert stomach) $27 for ice cream. It was so nice and we consumed them whilst sitting on the beach checking other people out (another favourite pass time, people watching)
The afternoon we did a really nice cruise up and down the coastline, stopping at some of the sites, mostly beaches and sand dunes. Dinner was in the caravan (early, Spag bowl) then we took the kids into the Gold Coast. It was cold and we were really tired so we didn't get out and do anything (the kids were happy about that)
