Thank you so much for offering us your driveway for a few nights, along with your bathroom and loo. This will be the third place on our trip that we can just veg out and relax. I first met Michelle over a Zoom (work meeting) each week we would catch up and have small talk about the business and help each other when needed. This soon turned into quirky messages and even exercises together of a morning online. We have since had two trips to Perth (work) and on the last one trip, I got to meet Leigh. I was keen about having some time with you guys and for Adam to meet you in person. And don't forget the kids 3 + 2 will be a nice mixture.
This is one thing that I really love about embarking on something new! The people that you meet along the way and the friendships that are formed, Michelle and Leigh were so kind to offer a space in their driveway for our BIG caravan, So much so that we stayed four nights.
Day Fifty-two -
Explore Day, we spent the day checking out the sights, Emmett got a much-needed haircut, Marnie and I had a pedicure (definitely needed) after the amount of walking in thongs I've done, my poor feet.
Adam has been really good and not had KFC the whole trip so we dine out for lunch. (Heartburn material) We spend the afternoon kicking about at Michelle house and the kids do what kids do and play.
Day Fifty-three -
OMG... Last night was the worse night we've had... It rained so hard that we all took hours to get to sleep and today is not looking good, overcast and rain is forecast for this afternoon so we get up and organised. I have washing that needs doing again, so off to the laundry mat to get it all done and dry. Washing - $24.
Marnie has been asking the whole trip if we could go and look at an RSPCA (we lost our family dog about 4 months ago) I go to google and find the nearest one, Its about 15 minutes away, we don't tell the kids that we are going. when we pull up Marnie early starts to cry! I give them the lecture that we aren't getting a dog, cause we still have about 1000km and about a week from home, they agree. we walk in and start looking around and as I get to the end of the path I see this Blue Staffy (i start to cry) Adam looks at me and shakes his head! Long story short we decided to take the night to think about it and have a family discussion.
Dinner with a great group of friends! So Michelle has invited Naomi, Mick, Helga and John over for a nice dinner. I love a good get together with a few drinks. The kids all got along really well, the screams that came from the shed while they were jumping on the jumping castle were blood-curdling!!! Dinner was really nice and drink went down too easily. Now we may or may not have taken the golf bugger for a drive later in the night 😁 This is the best part about making a new connection and meeting new people.
Day Fifty-four -
Today I wake with a slight headache... Self-inflicted, but I still feel sorry for myself (they made me do it) Its still raining and today is pack up day! Adam is the best husband ever, while I lye in bed feeling a little green, he's out there in the rain packing up the ute and the caravan with the bikes etc.. I go for a nice hot shower (hoping this will make me feel better) and it works a treat. I'm back! We get to Caravan all locked up and hit the road after saying a massive thank you to our hosts for the past four days. We have had a great time exploring your part of the world and really loved the company, So thank you, Michelle and Leigh, for having us.
